Crochet Maltese Terrier Amigurumi

Yay I did it! This is my attempt at a crochet Maltese terrier amigurumi. The pattern for the body was actually from something a totally different pattern, but I modified it and changed bits of it to create this little guy instead.

The hair around the face, nose, chest and back was done after making the initial body and head - and it was a bit difficult getting it to look right, but I think it came out okay in the end!

I'm really pleased with my efforts with this little guy.

Maybe I should write down my notes from the original amigurumi crochet pattern and the modifications I made to create a new crochet pattern of my own so others can make him too?

What do you think? Is he more like a Maltese terrier amigurumi or a West Highland terrier amigurumi?

Baby Snow Dragon Amigurumi

This is my attempt at a Baby Snow Dragon amigurumi pattern. The original pattern was from here: http://www.crochetme.com/media/p/94683.aspx  I thought it was just so cute I had to try it for myself.

I changed the pattern a little to include different wings and spines.

I also chose to stitch the eyes with black wool, as all the toys I make are donated to the RSPCA or the local animal shelter. Can't have a dog somewhere choking on a button or toy eye, now can I?

Yet Another Amigurumi Dragon

This little amigurumi dragon was made after someone saw my first little guy and requested one of their own in these colors. So here he is!

I still think this is an awesome little amigurumi dragon pattern. Very quick and easy to make - and just so cute!

Amigurumi Dragon

This little crochet dragon was created for my mother-in-law's little dog Charlie. He just loves to play with his toys, but he's always so gentle with them.

I wanted a small pattern because Charlie is such a little dog. So I found this cute little amigurumi dragon pattern online somewhere (I must figure out where I found this and post a link to thank that person).

Anyway, here's how he turned out.

And here's Charlie with his new toy! He absolutely LOVES his dragon. He even drags his toy into his bed with him at night to cuddle up to!

Welcome to my Crochet Blog!

Hi there! I've created this blog so I'll have somewhere to post my crochet creations.

I'm only an amateur hobbyist. I crochet blankets and amigurumi animals just for fun. I find the whole idea of sitting in front of the TV staring at the box so BORING. So I crochet things while I sit and watch instead. It keeps me busy, helps me to de-stress - and I just enjoy it.

The majority of blankets and amigurumi animals I crochet end up being donated to the RSPCA or the local Animal Welfare League, as I believe those abandoned and unloved animals really need some warmth in those horrible concrete cages. They also deserve a little toy of their own to love when they have no one else.
